Gordy Gundaker, of St. Charles, Missouri, piloted a throwback #6 car in tribute to the Wallace family on Friday night, July 23 in the 'Russ Wallace Memorial' at Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois. The DIRTcar Summer Nationals paid their second visit of the year to the St. Louis-area venue and a $10,000 top prize was up for grabs. Gordy stopped the clock sixth fastest in Group B during the qualifying session prior to running third in heat race action. After starting the 40-lap headliner from the outside of the sixth row, Gordy fought valiantly for a top ten showing in the caution-free affair before landing in the eleventh finishing position. Gordy Suffers Mechanical Woes During Weiner Nationals Pace Laps

The lone event for the #11 team over the weekend was a trip to Randolph County Raceway in Moberly, Missouri on Sunday night, July 18. The unsanctioned Super Late Model contest - dubbed the 'Weiner Nationals' - drew 23 competitors to the Show-Me State oval to do battle for the $10,000 winner's check. Gordy Gundaker laid down the fifth quickest time overall during the qualifying session prior to running second in heat race action. He was then slated to roll off from the inside of the third row in the 30-lap headliner, but mechanical woes during pace laps dropped him to a disappointing twenty-second place performance. Gundaker Climbs to Fifth in 41st Annual Herald & Review 100!

Gordy Gundaker was back on tour with the DIRTcar Summer Nationals in a trio of races in the Land of Lincoln from July 7-9. Things kicked off for the week for the #11 team on Wednesday night at Spoon River Speedway in Banner, Illinois. Gordy clicked off the eighth quickest lap in a stacked Group A during qualifying and later grabbed the fourth and final transfer spot through his heat race. After starting the $5,000 to win headliner from the inside of the eighth row, Gordy was able to streak past eight competitors during the 40-lapper to nab a solid seventh place effort.

The St. Charles, Missouri ace was then looking to rekindle some past magic on Thursday evening in the 41st Annual 'Herald & Review 100' at the mighty Macon Speedway in Macon, Illinois. Gordy placed third in heat race action, but later moved past seven cars during the 100-lap main event to land in the fifth finishing position behind only $5,500 victor Bobby Pierce, Ryan Unzicker, Shannon Babb, and Logan Martin. The action for the week then wrapped on Friday at Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, Illinois where a $10,000 paycheck was up for grabs. Gordy Gundaker Knocks Down Top Ten at Fayette County Speedway

Following a slew of rain-outs last weekend, the #11 team was back in action on the DIRTcar Summer Nationals tour on Saturday evening, July 3. The Fayette County Speedway in Brownstown, Illinois held a $10,000 to win "Hell Tour" program last night. Gordy Gundaker clicked off the ninth quickest lap in Group B during the qualifying session before placing fourth in his stacked heat race. After rolling off from the outside of the seventh row in the 50-lap headliner, Gordy steered past five competitors during the caution-free affair to land in the ninth finishing position. Gundaker Battles Summer Nationals Foes at Granite City & FALS

The GGR Motorsports team and driver Gordy Gundaker competed in their first two DIRTcar Summer Nationals programs of the 2021 season on June 18-19, as a pair of $10,000 top prizes were on the line at Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois and Fairbury Speedway in Fairbury, Illinois. On Friday night Granite City, Gordy ran third in his loaded heat race to earn the outside of the fifth row for the start of the 40-lap headliner. Unfortunately, an early flat tire sidelined the St. Charles, Missouri ace and relegated him to a disappointing twenty-third place showing. At FALS on Saturday evening, Gordy missed out on the 50-lap feature event after finishing seventh in his heat race and ninth in the B-Main. Gordy Gundaker Seventh in $5,000 Weekend Opener at FALS!

Gordy Gundaker and his #11 team were busy in the states of Illinois and Indiana over the June 3-5 extended weekend. The tripleheader of racing action kicked off with a special 'Thursday Night Shootout' at Fairbury Speedway in downtown Fairbury, Illinois. Gordy timed in sixteenth fastest overall during qualifying prior to placing fifth in his loaded heat race. After starting the $5,000 to win headliner from the inside of the seventh row, Gordy steered his #11 mount past six competitors during the 40-lapper en route to a strong seventh place showing.

The GGR Motorsports team then trekked to the Hoosier State for a pair of $10,000 to win World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series programs to wrap up the busy weekend. At the new Circle City Raceway in Indianapolis, Indiana on Friday evening, Gordy chose to scratch from the show before the qualifying session due to the rough track conditions. On Saturday at Plymouth Speedway in Plymouth, Indiana, Gordy placed sixth in his heat race before working his way up to twelfth in the final finishing order of the 40-lap main event. Top Five MARS Finishes for Gundaker at Fayette County & Spoon River!

Following a quick visit to Lucas Oil (MO) Speedway on Friday, May 28, the GGR Motorsports team wound up in the Land of Lincoln to compete in a pair of $5,000 to win MARS Racing Series battles. On Saturday, May 29 at Fayette County Speedway in Brownstown, Illinois, Gordy Gundaker ran second in his heat race prior to moving up three spots during the course of the 40-lapper to land on the podium in third behind only victor Jason Feger and runner-up Tanner English. Gundaker Moves Forward in Castrol FloRacing Night in America Show

A busy week of racing action for the #11 team heading into the Memorial Day holiday kicked off with a midweek stop to Tri-City Speedway on Tuesday, May 25. The Castrol FloRacing Night in America Series sanctioned the special event at the Granite City, Illinois oval and 27 competitors were in the pit area to vie for the $10,000 winner's check. Gordy Gundaker, of St. Charles, Missouri, laid down the twenty-first fastest lap overall during the qualifying session before finishing sixth in his loaded heat race. After starting the 40-lapper from the outside of the ninth row, Gordy drove past six racecars and was able to place twelfth in the final rundown against the national touring field. Next up for the Gordy Gundaker Racing (GGR) team was a lucrative doubleheader with the MARS Racing Series on May 14-15 in the Land of Lincoln. On Friday night in the $10,000 to win 'Farmer City 74,' Gordy Gundaker placed third in his stacked heat race at Farmer City Raceway and later blasted past a handful of competitors during the 74-lap headliner to land in the sixth finishing position. He trailed only winner Brandon Sheppard, Bobby Pierce, Tanner English, Dennis Erb, Jr., and McKay Wenger at the unfurling of the checkered flag. At Fairbury Speedway in downtown Fairbury, Illinois on Saturday evening in the $15,000 to win 'Spring Showcase,' Gordy finished seventh in his heat race, second in his B-Main, and eleventh in the 50-lapper. Gundaker Competes in Lucrative Dairyland Showdown at MTS

The #11 team was in World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series action on May 7-8 at Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, Wisconsin. On Friday night in the 'Dairyland Showdown' opener, which paid out $12,500 to the winner, Gordy Gundaker placed seventh in his stacked heat race, third in his B-Main, and seventeenth in the 40-lap feature event. In the 'Dairyland Showdown,' finale on Saturday evening, Gordy ran fifth in his heat race and won his B-Main prior to advancing all the way up to finish twelfth in the $22,500 to win headliner. Gordy Gundaker Knocks Down Top Ten in $30,000 Hawkeye 100!

The Gordy Gundaker Racing (GGR) team trekked to Boone Speedway in Boone, Iowa on April 30-May 1 for the inaugural running of the 'Hawkeye 100,' which was sanctioned by the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series. On Friday night in the two $3,000 to win preliminary events, Gordy Gundaker finished thirteenth in the first 25-lapper, while he wound up twelfth in the final rundown of the second "Twin Hawk." After running fourth in Saturday's heat race, Gordy lined up tenth on the starting grid in the 100-lap headliner, which carried a whopping $30,000 paycheck. The St. Charles, Missouri ace raced hard inside of the top ten and eventually brought his #11 machine home in the eighth finishing position.
