Gundaker Closes Out 2018 Season with Top Ten in the Dome!
2, 2018) Gordy Gundaker wrapped up his version of
the 2018 racing season from November 29-December 1 at the Dome at
America's Center in St. Louis, Missouri. The annual running of the
'Gateway Dirt Nationals' thrilled dirt racing enthusiasts and drew
a whopping 93 Super Late Model entrants to the indoor spectacular.
On Thursday night in the opener, Gordy knocked down the eighth fastest
lap in Group A during qualifying prior to placing eleventh in the
$5,000 to win 'Gateway Race of Champions.'
In Friday evening's $5,000 to win preliminary program,
Gordy ran second in his heat race before winding up ninth in the
final finishing order of the 20-lapper. At the temporary 1/5-mile
oval on Saturday in the $30,000 to win season finale, the St. Charles,
Missouri ace grabbed the second and final transfer spot through
his consolation race before driving all the way up to eighth in

$10,000 World 100 Prelim at Eldora Speedway
14, 2018) Over a month removed from the original
'World 100' date, the completion of the rain-postponed crown jewel
spectacular took place on October 12-13 at the hallowed Eldora Speedway
in Rossburg, Ohio. Action was scheduled to start on Friday evening
at the "Big E" with a pair of $10,000 to win Twin 25s,
but additional inclement weather pushed back the preliminary program
to Saturday afternoon. Gordy Gundaker placed sixth in his loaded
heat race prior to grabbing the third transfer spot through his
B-Main. In the 25-lap daytime affair, Gordy started and finished
in the twenty-second position.
Following a several hour break to clear the grandstands
and rework the racetrack, the nighttime portion of the day/night
doubleheader took place on Saturday evening and all eyes were focused
on capturing the $51,000 top prize in the 48th edition of the 'World
100.' Gordy finished eleventh in his stacked heat race and later
advanced up to seventh in his B-Main. Unfortunately, the St. Charles,
Missouri ace was unable to make the start in the 100-lapper that

Gordy Gundaker Lands
on Podium in Mod Mania Weekend Finale!
30, 2018) Gordy Gundaker and his #11 team invaded
Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois from September 27-29
for the annual running of 'Mod Mania,' which also featured a trio
of DIRTcar Super Late Model specials. On Thursday in the $2,000
to win opener, Gordy suffered mechanical problems all night long
and a broken A-Frame early in the main event dropped him to twenty-first
in the final finishing order. At Granite City on Friday evening,
Gordy earned Fast Time honors during the qualifying session, won
his heat race, and later finished seventh in the $2,500 to win headliner.
On Saturday night in the $3,000 to win weekend finale, the St. Charles,
Missouri ace ran third in his heat race, but later blasted past
a handful of competitors during the 35-lapper to score an impressive
third place podium effort behind only victor Brian Shirley and runner-up

in Weekend Tilts at Area Tracks!
23, 2018) The GGR Motorsports team traveled to a
pair of area tracks over the September 21-22 weekend to compete
in $1,200 to win weekly Super Late Model events. On Friday night
at Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois, Gordy Gundaker timed
in second fastest in his group during qualifying, ran second in
his heat race, and later placed second in the A-Main behind only
victor Rickey Frankel. At Federated Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Missouri
on Saturday evening, Gordy finished second in his heat race and
led the first five circuits in the headliner before nabbing another
runner-up performance behind only race winner Tim Manville. Full

Soggy World 100 Weekend at Eldora
9, 2018) Next up on the racing calendar for the
#11 team was the 48th running of the famous 'World 100,' which was
scheduled to run on the high-banks of Eldora Speedway in Rossburg,
Ohio from September 6-8. With the rainy remnants of Tropical Storm
Gordon postponing all of the action on Friday and Saturday until
October 12-13, Gordy Gundaker competed in only his $10,000 to win
Twin 25 at the "Big E" on Thursday night. After rain showers
pushed back the program until the wee hours of Friday morning, Gordy
finished fifth in his stacked heat race and led most of his B-Main
until a late caution helped drop him back to fourth. Unfortunately,
the St. Charles, Missouri ace was not able to make the start in

Thursday Night Thunder at Granite City!
31, 2018) Gordy Gundaker, of St. Charles, Missouri,
made the short trek to Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois
on Thursday, August 30 for a special $2,000 to win program for the
UMP Super Late Models. Gordy knocked down the quickest lap in his
group during qualifying and won his heat race to earn the pole position
for the A-Main. Gordy then ran in the second spot through much of
the distance before hitting an inside tractor tire while racing
for the lead. Fortunately, Gordy was able to hang on to record an
impressive runner-up performance behind only victor Michael Kloos!

Gordy Gundaker Twelfth
in Dirt Million Duel at Mansfield
26, 2018) The GGR Motorsports team made their way
to the pristine Mansfield Motor Speedway in Mansfield, Ohio on August
24-25 to compete in the inaugural running of the highly-publicized
'Dirt Million.' The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series sanctioned
the two-day spectacular, which kicked off on Friday night with a
pair of $10,000 to win 'Dirt Million' duels. Gordy Gundaker qualified
well before finishing eighth in his loaded heat race and fifth in
his B-Main. After receiving a Fast Time provisional to gain access
into the 30-lap duel, Gordy picked off ten competitors on his way
to a steady twelfth place performance.
A huge standing-room-only crowd was then on hand to
witness the largest paying Super Late Model show of 2018 on Saturday,
as a whopping nearly $203,000 winner's check was up for grabs. Gordy
placed sixth in his stacked heat race and eighth in his B-Main.
Unfortunately, Gordy was unable to advance into the 100-lap 'Dirt
Million,' which was eventually won by Earl Pearson, Jr. Full results

#FALS Frenzy at Fairbury!
12, 2018) Gordy Gundaker returned to racing action
on August 10-11 in a pair of MARS Racing Series tilts at Tri-City
Speedway in Granite City, Illinois and Fairbury American Legion
Speedway in Fairbury, Illinois. On Friday night at Granite City,
Gordy ran second in his heat race had had a solid run going early
in the $5,000 to win main event until left rear suspension problems
on lap five dropped him to twenty-first in the final finishing order.
At Fairbury on Saturday in the $10,000 to win #FALS Frenzy, Gordy
once again finished second in his heat race before falling back
to as far as sixteenth in the running order of the 50-lapper. The
St. Charles, Missouri ace then rallied back through the field to
garner a solid seventh place showing. Full results from both facilities

Prairie Dirt Classic at FALS!
29, 2018) The 29th edition of the 'Prairie Dirt
Classic' took center stage over the July 27-28 weekend at Fairbury
American Legion Speedway in downtown Fairbury, Illinois. On Friday
night, Gordy Gundaker knocked down the tenth fastest lap in Group
B during World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series qualifying
prior to running fifth in his $2,500 to win qualifying feature.
Following a win in his consolation race on Saturday evening, Gordy
started the 100-lap 'Prairie Dirt Classic' from the inside of the
ninth row. The St. Charles, Missouri ace then moved forward in the
$30,000 to win affair to earn a respectable twelfth place performance
