Gordy Gundaker Lands Top Ten in USA Nationals Opener at CLS

The World of Outlaws Case Construction Late Model Series took the Gordy Gundaker Racing (GGR) team north to the renowned Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wisconsin on August 4-6 for the 35th edition of the 'USA Nationals.' Things kicked off on Thursday night with a $6,000 to win shootout. Gordy Gundaker timed in fourth fastest in Group B during qualifying prior to running second in heat race action. After starting fifth on the grid in the 30-lap sprint, Gordy appeared headed to a top five showing in the contest until mechanical woes late in the distance dropped him to a tenth place performance.

A double set of qualifying heat races then took center stage on Friday evening to help set the lineup for Saturday's $50,000 to win 'USA Nationals.' Gordy ran eighth in his first heat race of the night and third in his final prelim. On Saturday, Gordy finished fourth in his B-Main and second in the Last Chance Qualifier, which earned him the outside of the twelfth row in the 100-lap crown jewel headliner. The St. Charles, Missouri ace then tried to make his way forward early in the feature distance before eventually retiring from the 'USA Nationals' in the twenty-sixth finishing position. Busy Week in Iowa and Illinois Highlighted by PDC Top Ten!

The #11 team was very busy this week with high-profile events at Boone Speedway in Boone, Iowa, Davenport Speedway in Davenport, Iowa, and Fairbury Speedway in Fairbury, Illinois from July 25-30. Things kicked off on Monday at Boone with the $20,000 to win 'Hawkeye 50,' which was sanctioned by the World of Outlaws Case Construction Late Model Series. Gordy Gundaker ran third in his stacked heat race prior to slipping back to fourteenth in the final rundown of the 50-lap main event. At Davenport on Tuesday in a $10,000 to win MARS Racing Series battle, Gordy won his heat race in preliminary action, but unfortunately ran into issues during the 'Hoker 50' and was officially paid for a fifteenth place effort.

The hectic week was then capped off with the annual running of the 'Prairie Dirt Classic' at Fairbury Speedway. On Friday evening, Gordy knocked down the sixth quickest lap in Group A during World of Outlaws qualifying and later grabbed the fourth transfer spot in his $3,000 to win qualifying feature behind only victor Brandon Sheppard, Jason Feger, and Kyle Bronson. After rolling off from the inside of the eighth row in the $50,000 to win PDC headliner on Saturday night, Gordy survived the 100-lapper in the tenth finishing position. Gordy Gundaker Seventh at River Cities; Eleventh at Red Cedar

Gordy Gundaker was back in action from July 15-17, as the World of Outlaws Case Construction Late Model Series was scheduled to preside over a trio of $10,000 to win throwdowns in the states of North Dakota, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. On Friday night at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, North Dakota, Gordy timed in second fastest in Group B during the qualifying session prior to picking up an impressive heat race triumph. After drawing the fourth starting spot before the drop of the green flag in the 40-lap feature, Gordy ultimately slipped back to seventh in the final finishing order.

Following a rain-out on Saturday evening at I-94 Speedway in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, the triple shot wrapped up on Sunday with a visit to Red Cedar Speedway in Menomonie, Wisconsin. Gordy laid down the fourteenth quickest lap overall during time trials and later placed second in his stacked heat race. After starting the 40-lapper from the inside of the ninth row, the St. Charles, Missouri ace was able to work his way past six competitors en route to a respectable eleventh place performance. Gundaker Grabs Top Five at Pevely; Sixth at Jacksonville!

The Gordy Gundaker Racing (GGR) team was extremely busy from June 22-26 in five straight nights of racing action in the states of Illinois and Missouri. On Wednesday night in a $5,000 to win DIRTcar Summer Nationals battle at Adams County Speedway in Quincy, Illinois, Gordy Gundaker unfortunately missed out on the 40-lapper after finishing sixth in his heat race and seventh in his B-Main. Things went much better for the #11 team on Thursday in a similar show at Spoon River Speedway in Banner, Illinois, as Gordy posted the quickest lap in his group during qualifying and won his heat race before slipping back to seventh in the final rundown of the 40-lap feature.

The World of Outlaws Case Construction Late Model Series then returned to competition by sanctioning a trio of events over the weekend at Federated Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Missouri and Jacksonville Speedway in Jacksonville, Illinois. In night one of the 'St. Louis Firecracker Faceoff' at Pevely on Friday, Gordy utilized a provisional to gain access into the $10,000 to win main event and later salvaged a solid eleventh place showing. At Pevely on Saturday evening with a $20,000 payday on the line, Gordy clicked off the quickest lap in Group B during qualifying, won his heat race, and later finished fifth in the 55-lap headliner behind only victor Dennis Erb, Jr., Bobby Pierce, Jason Feger, and Shannon Babb!

The hectic week then closed out at Jacksonville on Sunday, as a $10,000 top prize was up for grabs. The St. Charles, Missouri ace stopped the clock sixth fastest overall during the qualifying session and once again picked up a heat race triumph. "G-Man" Nabs Top Five at Belleville; Jumps on Summer Nationals

Gordy Gundaker was very busy from June 14-18 in events across the states of Kansas, Iowa, and Illinois. Things kicked off with a last minute visit to Belleville High Banks in Belleville, Kansas on Tuesday night for a XR Super Series battle on the 1/4-mile infield oval. Gordy laid down the sixth fastest lap overall during the qualifying session before running second in his loaded heat race. After rolling off from the outside of the third row in the $40,000 to win headliner, Gordy was able to move up inside of the top five during the 50-lapper and eventually placed a strong fifth behind only victor Shane Clanton, Chris Madden, Jonathan Davenport, and Chris Ferguson!

The #11 team then jumped on the DIRTcar Summer Nationals tour in events at Davenport Speedway in Davenport, Iowa, Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois, and Fairbury Speedway in Fairbury, Illinois. On Thursday in a $5,000 to win show at Davenport, Gordy ran fourth in his heat race prior to advancing to tenth in the 40-lap main event. At Granite City on Friday evening with a $10,000 paycheck on the line, Gordy placed second in his loaded heat race, but was unfortunately an early retiree in the 40-lap feature and was relegated to a twenty-first place effort. At FALS on Saturday in a similar $10,000 to win throwdown, the St. Charles, Missouri ace finished fourth in his heat race, second in his B-Main, and twelfth in the 50-lap headliner. Gundaker Battles 100+ Cars at Famed Eldora Speedway

The Gordy Gundaker Racing (GGR) team made their way to the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio from June 8-11 to compete in both the 'Eldora Million' and the 'Dirt Late Model Dream.' Following a washout on Wednesday, the entire 'Eldora Million' extravaganza took place on Thursday at the Buckeye State speedplant. In the $12,000 to win daytime preliminary event, Gordy Gundaker ran tenth in his heat race and ninth in his B-Main. In the nightcap prior to the $1,002,022 to win 'Eldora Million,' Gordy placed thirteenth in his loaded heat race and did not start the consolation race.

When the weekend rolled around at the "Big E," all eyes in the pit area were fixated on the $128,000 top prize in the 'Dirt Late Model Dream.' For Friday's preliminary event, which shelled out a $12,000 payday, Gordy finished seventh in his heat race and third in his B-Main. On Saturday during the crown jewel portion of the program, the St. Charles, Missouri ace ran eleventh in his stacked heat race and seventeenth in his B-Main. Unfortunately, Gordy was unable to transfer into a feature during his stint at the 1/2-mile oval, but was able to get lots of valuable laps and seat time. Gordy Gundaker Enters Pair of Big Shows at Granite City

Gordy Gundaker and his #11 team found themselves in the pit area at Tri-City Speedway on June 2-3 for a pair of Super Late Model special events. On Thursday night in a $5,000 to win DIRTcar program, Gordy timed in fourteenth fastest in Group B during qualifying, but later scratched from his heat race due to troubles. Gordy then rallied all the way up to fourth in the B-Main before knocking down a nineteenth place performance in the 30-lap feature.

The World of Outlaws Case Construction Late Model Series then rolled into the Granite City, Illinois oval on Friday to preside over a single-day shootout, which boasted a $10,000 payday. Gordy laid down the eleventh quickest lap in Group A during time trials prior to running seventh in his heat race and eighth in his B-Main. The St. Charles, Missouri ace then picked off eight competitors during the 40-lapper to land in the sixteenth finishing position. Gundaker Eighth in World of Outlaws Points Following Sharon

The World of Outlaws Case Construction Late Model Series took the Gordy Gundaker Racing (GGR) team to the Buckeye State on May 27-28 for a pair of events at Sharon Speedway in Hartford, Ohio. Following a rain-out on Friday night, a big $20,000 to win program wrapped up the weekend on Saturday.

Gordy Gundaker clicked off the seventh fastest lap in Group A during qualifying before grabbing the fourth transfer spot through his stacked heat race. Gordy then started the 60-lap headliner from the inside of the seventh row and was able to move up a spot during the race on his way to a steady twelfth place effort. Gordy Gundaker Grabs Fourth in Outlaws Stop at Marion Center!

The #11 GGR team was very busy from May 19-21 in a World of Outlaws Case Construction Late Model Series triple shot in the Keystone State, as a trio of $10,000 top prizes were up for grabs over the weekend! In the weekend lid lifter on Thursday at Bloomsburg Fair Raceway in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania, Gordy Gundaker ran second in his heat race prior to redrawing the sixth starting spot before the drop of the green flag in the 40-lap feature. Gordy was then up inside of the top five during the rugged contest and was looking for more when a rock unfortunately put a hole in the radiator, which forced him to retire in the thirteenth finishing position.

Round two of the weekend then took place on Friday night at Marion Center Raceway in Marion Center, Pennsylvania. Gordy timed in third quickest in Group A during the qualifying session prior to running second in heat race action. The St. Charles, Missouri standout then blasted past four competitors during the 40-lapper to nab an impressive fourth place performance behind only victor Dennis Erb, Jr., Shane Clanton, and Josh Richards. At Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pennsylvania in the weekend finale on Saturday evening, Gordy utilized a series provisional to gain access into the 40-lap headliner and was able to salvage a fifteenth place effort. Gundaker Grabs Top Ten in Illinois Speedweek Opener

The four-race "Illinois Speedweek" kept the Gordy Gundaker Racing (GGR) team busy from May 11-14. Things kicked off in the Land of Lincoln with a pair of $22,022 to win Castrol FloRacing Night in America Series battles at Spoon River Speedway in Banner, Illinois and Lincoln Speedway in Lincoln, Illinois. On Wednesday night at Spoon River, Gordy Gundaker ran second in his heat race before knocking down a solid tenth place performance in the 50-lap feature. In round two of the week on Thursday at Lincoln, Gordy placed fourth in his heat race, second in his B-Main, and sixteenth in the 50-lapper.

The MARS Racing Series then took over the sanctioning duties over the weekend in a pair of lucrative events at Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, Illinois and Fairbury Speedway in Fairbury, Illinois. At Farmer City on Friday evening in a $15,000 to win throwdown, Gordy unfortunately narrowly missed out on transferring into the 47-lap main event after finishing fourth in his loaded heat race and third in his B-Main. In Saturday's speedweek finale at FALS, which boasted a $30,000 paycheck, Gordy ran third in his heat race prior to being paid for a seventeenth place effort in the 50-lap headliner. The World of Outlaws Case Construction Late Model Series took the #11 team north to Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, Wisconsin on May 5-7 for the running of the 'Dairyland Showdown.' In the first of two $10,000 to win prelims on Thursday night, Gordy Gundaker timed in fourth fastest in Group B during the qualifying session before finishing fourth in his loaded heat race and nineteenth in the 40-lap feature. At MTS on Friday evening, Gordy ran tenth in his heat race and eleventh in his B-Main before utilizing an emergency provisional and ultimately placing twenty-third in the final finishing order of the 40-lapper.

On Saturday in the 'Dairyland Showdown' grand finale, a whopping $50,000 top prize was up for grabs. Gordy knocked down the fourteenth quickest lap in Group B during qualifying prior to running seventh in his heat race and fifth in his B-Main. Unfortunately, the St. Charles, Missouri ace was unable to transfer into the 75-lap headliner that was ultimately won by Mike Marlar. The month of April for Gordy Gundaker Racing (GGR) wrapped up in a big way on April 29-30 with the 2nd Annual 'Bristol Bash' at the dirt-covered Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, Tennessee. The World of Outlaws Case Construction Late Model Series presided over a pair of lucrative events, each of which boasted a $25,000 winner's check. On Friday in the opener, Gordy Gundaker ran seventh in his heat race prior to placing sixteenth in the 30-lap feature event. In Saturday's weekend finale, Gordy placed seventh once again in his heat race before pulling off early in the 30-lapper and settling for a twentieth place effort. In the finale on Saturday evening, which boasted a $7,000 payday, Gordy clicked off the fastest lap in Group B during qualifying before running second in his heat race.
